The Miami Valley has many community organizations that provide free or low cost programming and instruction for classrooms. Additionally, many of these organizations provide a destination for low-cost field trips.

Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park
This park is a cooperative effort between the National Park Service and five partners, which include: Dayton History, the Ohio Historical Society, Aviation Trail, Inc., the Wright Family Foundation and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. The park is also a member of the National Aviation Heritage Area which also incorporates two other national venues: the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force and the National Aviation Hall of Fame.

The Montgomery County Material Reuse Facility (McMRF) collects all sorts of unwanted, yet still usable materials from businesses and individuals, then redistributes them to local nonprofit organizations -- including schools. Check their website for:
